CSUSA Member Kevin Tottis's law firm, TottisLaw, has named Rachel M. Vorbeck partner and added a new attorney, Monica L. Thompson, as a partner.
Rachel Vorbeck joined the firm after more than a decade litigating in large national law firms. Her practice focuses on intellectual property and business litigation. She has litigated in both federal and state court in a first-chair capacity and as part of a larger team at all phases of litigation and ADR proceedings. She also has significant appellate experience, was a staff attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, taught appellate advocacy at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and has conducted CLE seminars on appellate practice.
Monica Thompson has more than 30 years experience litigating on behalf of clients in the manufacturing, medical, financial and consumer product sectors. She has also provided transactional advice and general counseling services related to intellectual property. Monica has tried cases in federal district courts and appeared before appellate panels, arbitration panels and bankruptcy courts. A frequent speaker on litigation and IP, she teaches at the Practicing Law Institute. She is rated AV Preeminent in the Martindale Hubble listings and has repeatedly won the distinction of Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters.
Kevin Tottis, who opened TottisLaw in Chicago in 1996, has more than 25 years of litigation experience, including extensive experience in all areas of IP litigation. He frequently speaks and writes about IP. A Practising Law Institute faculty member, he is a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent-rated attorney and has been a Illinois Super Lawyer since 2010. A long-time member of the Copyright Society, he served on the 2015 Annual Meeting Committee.
