ANDREA F. RUSH Included in Best Lawyers in Canada 2017

Member Andrea F. Rush of Blaney McMurtry LLP in Toronto has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada for 2017.
Andrea's practice in intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, confidential information, advertising and privacy), technology and administrative law has led her to the Supreme Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal, as well as to the Copyright Board and Trademarks Opposition Board. Andrea represents Canadian and global rights owners and users in the registration, commercialization and enforcement of their brands, as a registered patent and trademark agent, and active member of the law societies of Quebec and Ontario.
Andrea was appointed by the federal government to a Business Services SAGIT (sectoral advisory group on international trade), and to the Information Highway Commission (copyright subcommittee). Andrea served as a trustee of the Copyright Society of the USA, and on the advisory Board of Stanford University Program on Law, Science and Technology and the Board of Directors of the Association Litteraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI). Andrea taught courses on the business of intellectual property at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD University) and Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.M. program in e-commerce).
The Law Society of Upper Canada awarded Andrea the Continuing Professional Development Long-Term Achievement Award in 2015 for her commitment to professional development. Andrea served as chair of the Law Society IP Specialist Certification committee, and chaired the LSUC IP year in Review annually. Andrea currently serves on the International Board of Governors of the Technion.
