Mid-Winter Meeting 2015 FAQs

NEW >>>

Q: Where will I get my CLE certificates? And is there anything I should know about checking in on Thursday?
A: This will be a little different than previous Mid-Winters, but if you've been to a New York Chapter Meeting, you know the drill. Your badge will be available for you to pick up when you check in with us. Inside your badge holder, you will find your CLE certificates. We will be handing our other materials with your attendee gift, also at check-in.

The Mid-Winter check-in table will open at 3pm on Thursday in the hotel's conference space. Please check into the hotel first and ask the staff to direct you to their conference space.

Q: How do we get to the Country Music Hall of Fame for the Friday night reception?
A:
We've arranged for shuttles to pick everyone up from the hotel's Front Lobby promptly at 6:30pm.

Q: Will there be food at the receptions?
A: There will be hors d'oeuvres. There will also be a turkey carving station Friday night. For restaurant recommendations from the Nashvillians on our Mid-Winter Committee, please see Laurie & Tara's Guide to Nashville.

Q: Is the hotel and conference space accessible to people with disabilities?
A: Yes, but feel free to contact us if you have questions about elevators, stairs and accessibility.

Q: When will I get the course materials? Will there be hard copies on-site?
A: Registrants will be mailed a link shortly before the meeting. The materials will only be available online.

Q: Can I get a list of attendees? When?
A:
A list of registrants is available here. You will receive a detailed list in your agenda when you check in.

Q: Who is performing at the Welcome Reception on Thursday night?
A: Only three of Nashville's most prominent songwriters! Roger Cook ("I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony),” "I Just Want to Dance with You,” “Talking in Your Sleep), Brett James (“Jesus, Take The Wheel,” as well as hits for Kenny Chesney, Jessica Andrews and Martina McBride) and Dave Turnbull ("Lucky Man," "The More I Drink," "If Something Should Happen") will be singing their hits and discussing their creative process. More about their work (scroll down to the Agenda).

Q: Who are you awarding the 2015 Excellence in Creativity Award to (and what is it anyway)?
A: We will be pleased to present the 2015 Excellence in Creativity Awards to the pioneering recording engineer and producer George Massenburg and to the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).

REGISTRATIONS, RATES & TICKETS >>>

Q: The registration options seem a little different this year. Could you explain my choices?
A: Sure! To offer you the best experience, we’ve broken down registration as follows:

Regular registration gets you into all panels, meals and receptions occurring during the the meeting. It also includes admission to a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the site of our Friday night reception.  What it doesn't include: the International Chapter Lunch at ASCAP's Nashville Offices on Thursday before the Mid-Winter's official start.

Regular registration is the best way to take advantage of the Mid-Winter Meeting’s educational and networking opportunities. But if you can't attend the whole meeting, panel passes provide access to a single day of panels and between-session coffee breaks. They do not include breakfasts or evening activities. Friday’s pass does include lunch.

Are you a full-time student or professor? We offer special rates, but you must also be a member. Please bring your ID for check-in at the registration desk.

Q: I am bringing a guest. What are my options?
A: Guests may purchase tickets for the receptions and meals. Each reception and meal is a separate ticket. Purchase guest tickets while registering, or to pay separately, see "Related Products" on the event page. Guest tickets will be included in your attendee packet.

Q: Can I join now and get the member rate? What do I get with my membership? When will it expire?
A: You can and should! We’re the nation's premier organization for copyright professionals. Learn more about how membership will benefit you.

To get the member rate, simply join at www.csusa.org. Within 72 hours, you will receive an email that your membership has been approved. Then you will be able to register for the Mid-Winter.

Q: When do I need to register by?
A: To get the early-bird rate, register by midnight of January 19th, Eastern Standard Time. After that, the prices go up by $100 for everyone but students. The final deadline is midnight of February 1st, Eastern Standard Time.

Q: What if I need to cancel my registration?
A: We hope that won’t happen, but if it does, we can refund your payment if we receive written notice by Sunday, February 1st. We cannot issue credit for a future event. You can transfer your registration to another person, but please put that person in touch with us ASAP so that we can prepare an attendee packet and apply for his or her CLE credit.
