Q: When I click to register, I offered the option of choosing meals and receptions. Aren't they included?
A: If you register for the whole meeting, all meals and receptions occurring between its official start on Thursday at 3pm and its conclusion on Saturday afternoon are included. This does not include the International Chapter Lunch on Thursday at noon -- that is a separate charge. The receptions and meal tickets are offered for guests.
One important note: if you are purchasing a single-day panel pass instead of registering for the whole meeting, meals and receptions are not included, but you may purchase guest tickets.

Q: Could you explain my registration options?
A: Sure! To offer you the best experience, we’ve broken down registration as follows.
Regular registration gets you into all panels, meals and receptions occurring during the Mid-Winter Meeting. Not included: 1) the International Chapter Lunch on Thursday before the Mid-Winter’s official start and 2) Friday afternoon’s French Quarter & Cemeteries Walking Tour.
Single-day panel passes provide access to a single day of panels and between-session coffee breaks. Not included: breakfasts, dinner, receptions, Friday afternoon’s French Quarter & Cemeteries Walking Tour or the International Chapter Lunch, all of which can be purchase separately.
Guest meal tickets allow guests and panel pass-holders to attend receptions, lunches and recreational activities. Guests may not attend sessions. More information on guests below.
Are you a full-time student or professor? We offer special rates, but you must be a member. Please bring your ID for check-in at the registration desk.

Q: Does the registration fee include the International Chapter Lunch?
A: No, that is a separate charge. You can add a ticket for the International Chapter Lunch while registering for the Mid-Winter, or you can register separately.
Q: Can I join now and get the member rate?
A: You can and should! We’re the nation's premier organization for copyright professionals. Learn more about how membership will benefit you.
To receive the member rate, simply join (or renew you membership) at www.csusa.org. If you are a new member, you will receive an email that your membership has
been approved within 72 hours. Then you will be able to register for the Mid-Winter.
Q: When do I need to register by?
A: The final registration deadline is 2/2. Please read below for additional deadlines.
Q: What if I need to cancel my registration?
A: We hope that won’t happen, but if it does, we can refund your payment if we receive written notice by 1/29. We cannot issue credit for a future event. You can transfer your
registration to another person, but please put that person in touch with
us ASAP so that we can prepare an attendee packet and apply for his or
her CLE credit.
Q: What are my options if I can't come to the whole meeting?

Q: I'm going to register for a panel pass and want to add on a meal/reception/activity.

Q: I am bringing a guest. What are my options?
A: To increase the options available to guests of attendees, we’ve adopted an “à la carte” system. Guests may purchase tickets for the individual receptions, meals and activities. Each item requires a separate ticket. You may purchase guest tickets while completing your own registration, or you can do it later. Guest tickets will be included in your attendee packet.
Q: Can my guest decide onsite if s/he wants to purchase tickets for a meal or an activity?
A: We'd love to accommodate onsite requests, but space and availability are limited. Please contact us to let us know which meal or activity your guest is interested in.
Q: I am bringing a child. Do I have to register him/her for meals?
A: Yes. We are offering meal packages for children ages 5-12 or 13-18. Please click here for information on kids' meal packages.
Q: Is there anything fun for kids at the hotel/in New Orleans?
A: A list of family and children’s activities in the New Orleans area is coming soon.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS >>
Q: How do I book a room at the Hotel Monteleone? How much does the hotel cost per night?
A: Unfortunately, the Monteleone is currently sold out. CSUSA reserved a second room block through January 25 at the Omni Royal Orleans at 621 St. Louis Street (roughly two blocks from the Monteleone). Although the block was only reserved through January 25, there may be available rooms. Another hotel to check out is the Bourbon Orleans.

Q: Are there any special transportation options available?
A: CSUSA Mid-Winter attendees are eligible to receive a special shuttle rate when booked online through the link below. Reservations must be made online at least 24 hours prior to your flight's arrival.

DRESS CODE >>
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Business casual. We’re an informal group! But please bring weather-appropriate clothing: the average temperature in February in New Orleans is a high of 65 Fahrenheit and a low of 45-50 Fahrenheit, but it may be warmer or colder.
CLE & COURSE MATERIALS >>
Q: How do I get CLE credit? How many credits will I receive?
A: Please indicate your state(s) and bar number(s) when you register. We need to know which states to apply to! We are applying for 6-7 credits. The number of credits varies by state, pending approval of our applications.
Q: When will I get my CLE certificates?
A: Your CLE certificates will be inside your badge holder. If you've been to a New York Chapter Meeting, you know the drill! Your badge will be available for you to pick up when you check in with us.
Q: When will I get the course materials? Will there be hard copies onsite?
A: Registrants will be mailed a link shortly before the meeting. The materials will only be available online.
Q: When does the Meeting begin and end?
A: Schedule subject to change; final schedule will be announced soon. The registration desk is open from 3pm-6pm on Thursday, February 11. If you register for the International Chapter Lunch (which is a separate fee), however, you should plan to arrive in time for the lunch’s start at noon. The first-time attendee reception starts at 6pm and the welcome reception is from 6:30pm-8pm. Sessions will conclude on Saturday, February 13 at 12:45pm.
NEW ATTENDEES >>
Q: This will be my first-time attending a CSUSA national meeting. Is there anything special I should know?
A: We're happy to see new people at the Mid-Winter Meeting and want to make you feel at home. If this will be your first time attending one of our national meetings, you will be invited to the New Attendee Reception, which will take place at 6pm on February 11th. You will also be paired with a "host" -- a member who has attended our national meetings before. That person will meet you at the reception and will be able to tell you more about CSUSA Mid-Winter Meeting and introduce you to other attendees.
There will be a place on the registration form to indicate that this is your first time attending one of our national events. In the week before the meeting, we will email you to introduce you to your host.
You may also find it helpful to review the suggested dress code and agendas from past Mid-Winter Meetings, and, if you are a member, to visit the Media Library to review past Mid-Winter sessions. (To visit the Media Library, sign in and go to your Profile Home.)
THE INTERNATIONAL CHAPTER LUNCH >>
Q: What is the International Chapter? Do you have to live or work outside of the United States to be a member?
A: The International Chapter is a group within CSUSA dedicated to international copyright law issues. Any CSUSA member can join, regardless of where he/she lives or works. Please contact email@example.com to be added to the International Chapter email list.
Q: What is the International Chapter Lunch?
A: It is a luncheon and panel discussion on a topic related to international copyright law. It will take place on the day of the Mid-Winter Meeting’s start but is not officially part of the Mid-Winter. You do not need to be a CSUSA Member or an International Chapter Member to register. Q: Who attends the meeting? Will there be networking opportunities?
A: Mid-Winter Meeting attendees include professionals from the world’s leading IP firms and the entertainment industry, solo practitioners, in-house counsel, representatives of the U.S. Copyright Office and other governmental agencies, publishers, academics and law students. We are a collegial group. You'll have ample opportunity to get to know people over breakfast, lunch and coffee, at the Welcome Reception and at Friday night's dinner.

Q: Does everything take place at the hotel?
A: Yes, with the exception of Friday afternoon’s French Quarter & Cemeteries Walking Tour, which will leave from the hotel, and Friday night's dinner on the Steamboat Natchez. Transportation to the Natchez will be provided.
Q: Can I get a list of attendees?
A: A list of everyone who has registered so far is available on the registration page. You will receive a detailed list in your packet when you check in.
Q: Will there be free Wi-Fi at the meeting?
A: Yes, free Wi-Fi will be available in all of the meeting rooms.

Q: Is the hotel accessible to people with disabilities? What about the Steamboat Natchez?
A: The Hotel Monteleone is fully wheelchair accessible via the Bienville Street entrance. If you require an accessible room, please mention this while booking. If you need a roll-in shower or a shower chair, please mention that as well. The dock entrance to the Steamboat Natchez, the main dining room and the bathroom off the main dining room are accessible. Feel free to contact us or the hotel if you have additional questions about elevators, stairs and accessibility.
